HKU-students with interactive plant at Klimaforum
17 december 2009

In cooperation with Friends of the Earth International eight students of the HKU developed an interactive plant for the Klimaforum at Copenhagen,  a forum for civilians held simultaneously with the COP15. The outcome of the Klimaforum will be officially handed over to the world leaders.

The students developed Gary Grassroots, as an interactive plant, in order to visualise the effects of climate change on humans and nature and bring it to the visitors of the Klimaforum. Gray Grassroots blogs and responses not only to the news from the climate top COP15 and the climate related disasters but also to the visitors through Facebook and Twitter.
Gary is part of the activities of Friends of the Earth International at Copenhagen. The progress of the COP15 will be reflected in Gary’s physical conditions. The objective of the forum participants is crystal clear: the ‘health’ of Gary needs to be improved. At the start of the climate conference Garry is in critical condition, heart monitor, respiration, infusion. In short: if we don’t act now, Gary won’t survive.
