With Irene’s great affinity to the positive side of health, wellbeing and human awareness, she considers it a rewarding challenge to pass this passion on to the design students.

Starting as coordinator and teacher in the department Well Being at the Design Academy (1998-2000), Irene began to work with students, not only to improve the clarity of their thinking process and their observational skills as designers but also to challenge and encourage their lateral thinking talent.

In 2000 -2004 she became unit manager of Health at the Technical University Eindhoven; building and developing the new faculty of Industrial Design (for intelligent products and services).

At the Utrecht School of Art and Technology, Interaction Design department (2000-present) she focuses on interactive installations, 3D-design for the senses and developing experiences.
